This baseboard needs help!

At least half-an-inch of dried caulk is bridging the gap between the top of the baseboard and the wall!

This is a common problem with aged trim. The baseboard works its way far enough away from the wall enough for bits of plaster and dirt to fall behind it. The painter comes along and caulks the gap. The caulk dries out, falls into the gap, and the next painter adds more caulk...and on and on.

When the trim fits tight against the wall, the room "snaps" to attention.

Removing baseboards to clear obstructions from debris that has fallen behind them is just one type of trim realignment. Other sources of trim disalignment are caused by shifting walls, other forms of obstructions, and loss of strength in nail-grip. We find the source of all these problems, clear the obstructions, and refit wood trim to restore the tailor-made, custom-fit that you expect from a well-dressed home.
